Synopsis   The General Federation of Women's Clubs of CT. met this past Saturday at the Heritage Hotel & Conference Center in Southbury. One hundred and twenty members representing 41 clubs braved the cold and handed in their club reports detailing a year of volunteer service. President Calnen presided over the meeting. The mood of the day was relaxed and one of sharing our accomplishments with each other. Club presidents gave a short oral presentation on their most memorable project in the past year. At the suggestion of 1st VP Nancy Kalyan, a “Getting To Know You”game was enjoyed by all. One important piece of information came before the group and that was the update on the status of GFWC/CT request for a 501(c) (3) tax exemption. The vote by the clubs was in favor that we go forward. Presidents were given the necessary information to bring back to their clubs. Updates were given about the High School Arts Festival on March 18-20th and the New England Regional Conference Sept. 23-25th in Mystic.
